Our Shakshuka inspired Eggs feature perfectly poached eggs nestled in a rich and aromatic tomato and bell pepper sauce, spiced with a blend of cumin, coriander powder, paprika, and a hint of chili for a subtle kick. Each bite is a harmonious blend of creamy egg yolk, velvety sauce, and vibrant Mediterranean flavours.
Ingredients:
- 1 onion
- 4 cloves garlic
- 2 bell peppers
- 4 teaspoon tomato paste
- 500 g cherry tomatoes
- 200 ml water
- 250 g feta cheese
- Salt and pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon chilli flakes
- 5 eggs
Procedure:
- Start by cutting and preparing all the vegetables for the recipe
- Add oil to a pan under medium heat then add the onions , bell peppers, the garlic and all the condiments.
- Cook for about 10 minutes until the onion become soft .
- Add the tomato paste and the water, cover the pan with a lid , then let everything cook on medium to low heat , for 15 minutes for the flavours to develop.
- At the end add the feta cheese and let everything come to a boil then with the help of a spoon make a cavity in the sauce and place the raw egg.Repeat the process for all the eggs.
- After all the raw eggs are placed in the sauce cover the pan with a lid then let the eggs cook for 5 minutes or until the egg white are coagulated, and change to white .
- Serve warm with crispy toast!
